This sweet family came to Maui on vacation with their adorable 11 month old daughter. It was a beautiful, bright morning on Wailea Beach and my husband Peter joined me for this session. It was a ton of fun talking story with mom and dad Eric and Cheryl and we discovered what a small world we live in – they live 3 miles away from my Grandma!

Meet sweet Maui Baby Jadelyn Taylor. I photographed her at 5 days old – the perfect age for Maui Baby photos. She curled up and slept so beautifully for her photo session. Love her little milk tummy and her sweet little sleep induced smile!

Maui Baby Photography

Newborn sessions are so different than most of my other sessions. They are quiet and warm. We had the windows closed and the sun shining through the curtained windows for the perfect soft light. All the adults were hot, but baby was comfy in her birthday suit. At the end, big brother Landon came in for some baby snuggles. And to top it all off, I didn’t get peed on – which is usually what happens to me during Maui Baby sessions.

When to reserve your Maui Baby photo session

I often get asked when the right time for a newborn session is… and I am often called too late. Once baby is a week old, it’s already too late. They change so much in that first week – they learn to enjoy stretching and don’t curl up and sleep as they do when they’re brand new. The best time to reserve the session is according to mommy’s due date – and then to adjust once baby arrives. Unlike typical photo sessions, newborn maui baby sessions can take place mid-day to make for easier scheduling. Sweet baby Kassidy is One! This session was a referral session – which is so much fun and so rewarding for me. Two incredibly sweet families sent me this family.

It was a beautiful morning at Kapalua Bay for their Maui photography session. Kassidy is such a doll baby. She loved the sand and had an adorable wobbly baby walk. Both of her parents are completely smitten – they are such a sweet family!

It isn’t easy being a toddler { Kapalua Bay }

It’s so nice when I have extra time to spend with families who have such young children. Little Malia had caught the flu shortly after her family flew in and we re-scheduled. Then on the morning of their shoot a raincloud came in and it rained on us a bit. It was still gorgeous outside, but little Malia wasn’t used to the sand on her feet quite yet.

Despite her fears of this new place, we got in lots of snuggling mama and daddy images, snuck in some family ones, and even got Grandma in a few. What a little doll this little girl is!

This session took place in the morning at Kapalua Bay, Maui

Big boy Conner

I love getting together with Conner and his family. Conner has grown so much since the last time I saw him by himself at 14 months. He’s now two and a half! He had so many sweet smiles to show me, so many big boy jumps to show off, and tons of fun with his toys. I love these types of sessions where I can follow a little one around in their own world.

2 Year Old Princess

It is always such a treat to see Landis and her mommy, Christina. It’s hard to believe that an entire year has passed since her one year session at Green Pastures. This session was to celebrate Landis Grace’s second birthday!

We needed a lovely place for the session that didn’t look like it had been hit by our drought and also needed to be vintage so Mayfield Park was perfect! Miss Landis was completely adorable as usual. I am so thrilled to shower her mom this sneak peek. Happy Birthday sweet girl!

Crystal and Ty

The world can seem so tiny – even more as I’m getting older. Crystal and Ty live about 5 minutes from me in Austin. And I had the great honor of photographing them while they were expecting and then again for their son’s newborn images just before Christmas. And how honored I was when they asked me if I’d photograph their wedding on Maui.

Truthfully, their wedding was what started my homesickness. The more I thought about Maui, the more I missed it and NEEDED Maui.

Their wedding at the Royal Lahaina in Ka’anapali was lovely and heartfelt. I enjoyed seeing them together and playing with their son, Cade, who is the cutest little man! Everyone in attendance was so much fun to be around.

I heard from Crystal yesterday that her father had passed away (pictured in the top set of images). My heartfelt condolences and prayers are going out to her entire family.

Baby Alexandria

What a sweet honor it is to be asked by such a beautiful Maui family to come photograph their newborn. Lisa and I had been in touch about newborn photos and Alexandria decided she was going to be a little late.

When she arrived (9 days late!) I got to meet her and photograph her and her wonderful family when she was just 3 days old. What a beautiful, sweet little girl. She is adored by her gorgeous mommy, handsome daddy, and cutie pants older brother, Zolten.

Since this is a surfing family, it was only appropriate that we finish the session with daddy and daughter by the surfboards. I know she’ll be in the water with them all in no time!

Thank you so much for having me over, “P” Family! I look forward to seeing you all around Lahaina town and seeing Alexandria and Zolten grow!

baby beach magic

There is something so magical about a baby going to the beach for the first time. As many of you know, the ocean was calling me home to Maui and I’m now here with the kids for the summer. We arrived yesterday after two long days of travel.

Today was Cruz’s first time at the ocean. It was magic. It was special. I will savor this day for the rest of my life.

While Cruz was loving the water, my son Kai also went off on his own to discover. He was 10 months old last time we were on Maui – so this was very new for him too.
