This session was so much fun and so precious. With so many young children, I definitely got my days’ worth of exercise – but it was the interaction and love between everyone involved that made this session so special. The love between siblings and parents and children was wonderful to witness. There was a lot of running around, laughing, and yelling “STINKY!” to get the kids smiling. I think I like yelling “Stinky!” is a lot more fun than cheese (actually I don’t encourage CHEESE at all!). The boys sure thought it was hilarious to be yelling out STINKY at the top of their lungs. Made for some pretty awesome smiles.

Kapalua Family Lifestyle Session { Kapalua Bay }

I spent such a wonderful afternoon with this lovely family at Kapalua Bay. I loved how the kids wanted to show off their cartwheels and great smiles. A rainbow appeared for about 10 seconds, and I was lucky enough to capture their sweet little boy under a full arched rainbow – so special!

Sweet Family at the Bay { Kapalua Bay }

It was so lovely meeting this family. They have a beautiful new baby who has become the center of their universe. And she is such a doll baby! Her older brother and sister were so sweet and everyone was so much fun to photograph. We got a lovely afternoon plus a few sprinkles.

Puppy Love { Pineapple Hill, Kapalua }

I was so flattered when my brother-in-law and his girlfriend asked me for a mini session. We decided to head up to Pineapple Hill in Kapalua so that Belle wouldn’t run all over the place. She did so good with her reindeer antlers on! And isn’t my nephew, Landon, absolutely adorable? Pretty soon they’re adding a little Princess to the family and I sure can’t wait to meet her.

If you think Lisa’s makeup is phenemonal – it is. She is absolutely amazing with makeup and she has such a knack for knowing what looks awesome. She keeps up a beauty/life blog called All Things Lisaaa if you’d like to see her product reviews.

It isn’t easy being a toddler { Kapalua Bay }

It’s so nice when I have extra time to spend with families who have such young children. Little Malia had caught the flu shortly after her family flew in and we re-scheduled. Then on the morning of their shoot a raincloud came in and it rained on us a bit. It was still gorgeous outside, but little Malia wasn’t used to the sand on her feet quite yet.

Despite her fears of this new place, we got in lots of snuggling mama and daddy images, snuck in some family ones, and even got Grandma in a few. What a little doll this little girl is!

The “T” Family – South Baby Beach, Lahaina {lifestyle session}

It was so wonderful to see this beautiful family. About 6 years ago I photographed Heather and Brian’s wedding at 505 Front Street. And now they have two beautiful children and came back to Maui for vacation all the way from Cincinnati! It was also nice that Nana and Papa could tag along for some fun with the kids.

This session took place in the morning at Baby Beach (South entrance) in Lahaina. It couldn’t have been a more stellar morning for playing on the beach!

Old Town Buda Family Session

I was so glad that Hannah called me when she did. I had donated a session last year to the kids’ preschool and never found out who the winner was. So when Hannah called me I literally had ONE day left that I could do this session. Talk about perfect timing!

This family is so incredibly adorable! And after a cold streak it was a lovely, warm afternoon in old town Buda.

What Love Looks Like

It’s been about a year since I’ve seen this lovely family and gorgeous mom and dad. With a two month old newborn, Tammy was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in December, 2010.

To have a newborn is challenging enough – but to have a newborn AND have cancer? I am in complete awe of Tammy’s strength, grace, and beauty. And to watch this sweet family together last weekend was inspiring and beautiful. This is what love looks like.

Tammy, Rob, and Izzy, it was my absolute honor to spend the morning with you and capture this moment in your lives!!

The “K” Family

By the time the last mini session started, the light had changed into an intense golden glow. It was absolutely beautiful!

Meet Jenn – Kai Boy’s preschool teacher at Manchaca United Methodist Child Development Center. All three of my children have attended this amazing preschool, and Miss Jenn is Kai’s teacher last year and this year. Miss Jenn has helped me stay on top of his development, provided an extra set of eyes, support, advice, and friendship. She is an amazing teacher and an even more amazing mommy. It was so nice to be able to photograph her beautiful family!
