It’s a … Little Boy!

A new little Dagupion baby entered the world last night – March 4, 2010 – at 10:34pm.

Peter and I are thrilled to announce our new little man

Cruz Nico Ka’ehukai Florencio Dagupion!

It was a long day yesterday and we were discharged from the birth center at 5am this morning. Little man weighed 8lbs, 15oz and was 21.75 inches long. He is beautiful and has been welcomed home by his big sister Ryenne and big brother Kai. We’re all great (but very tired!).

I’m hoping to do his real newborn session on Tuesday… we’ll see if mama and baby are up for it! :)

.:: just waiting ::.

It’s March 1st! I thought for sure that I would have a brand new baby in the house by now. But I guess I am *technically* still 9 days from my due date. So I wait… I couldn’t help but catch a glimpse in the living room mirror of myself and the growing belly. Probably more of me than you want to see, but here it is!

Speaking of this mirror…. this is quite a special mirror. It was gifted to me by my parents and it has made its way from Mexico to Maui and finally to Texas. It finally found it’s home on my living room wall just a few short weeks ago. I adore it. It has “flutterbies” as Ryenne calls them.

Today is Kai’s 17 month birthday. He is such a big boy – well big on personality – not quite big on size. He is sweet as can be. I was so lucky when he wanted to see himself in our mirror and  he decided to try to kiss me just as I hit the shutter. I realize this is not in focus, but so very special nonetheless!

The boy and girl snuggling is a rarity. But I love it.

And lastly…. my little boy Kai – so big 17 months today. No more pacifier – all smiles.

March 4, 2010 - 8:32 pm sandy - no baby yet...keep us posted! your friend, sandy

March 8, 2010 - 12:26 pm Sylvia - awwww, I love that self-image of you and belly in the mirror. Ohhh, what a great way to rememeber this beautiful time in your life.

snow day in Austin!

This is only the second time I’ve ever seen snow fall in my entire life. Today was absolutely magical! It started with taking Ryenne to pre-school. She and I were both in awe at the snowflakes falling so tenderly to the ground.

It was pretty chilly today, so it was filled with lots of cuddling Kai and just “being”.

Once Ry got home from school, we ventured out (for just a little bit). We were freezing!!

Kai’s first time in the snow… ever.

Big sister Ryenne

And lastly I leave you today with a boy and his dog. He loves this spot between our fence and the neighborhood fence. A good spot for little boys imaginations, don’t you think?

He loves his belly button :: Austin Mama Photographer

It’s been a rough couple of weeks in the Dagupion household. I had a false labor and got a nasty virus, then passed it on to Ryenne, and finally Kai got it. Poor baby. Then we learned he is allergic to Tylenol after crazy hives. Definitely been a rough one!

But he remains in good spirits and is on the mend. He has a full set of baby teeth now. I keep trying to get a good smile out of him, but it’s proving challenging and when I took out the camera he wanted me to take a picture of his belly  button. He loves his belly button – and I will admit that it gets kissed by his mama (me) a lot!

A few changes are coming to the blog! While I am just waiting for Baby #3 (who we call “P3″) I figured I’d update things when I get the chance. A girl can always change her mind on the look of something, right? So stay tuned for more fine tuning and thanks for following along on this ride!

XO,

Mariah

February 22, 2010 - 3:33 pm Jennifer - What a cutie pie he is! ;)

i can’t believe i did it!

I cut my baby boy’s hair… *sigh* I’m a little sad.

It was just getting a little bit too “mad scientist” and it was getting in his eyes. But it was so wispy and sweet. Here’s the before and “after” – It looks shorter than it really is in the after shot just because he was mad at me. I’ll have to do a follow up after shot soon. He is so dang adorable….

February 15, 2010 - 9:56 pm Michele (Pinkle Toes) - Adorable. Although the title of the post scared me just a little bit.

February 17, 2010 - 5:47 am Uilani Friedman - These are so adorable! Love the crazy hair though:)

Happy Day of Love!

The past few days have been… well… interesting! I was pretty sure that I was going into labor the other night – contractions and all! But everything has kinda stopped and I think I might have a stomach virus.

Peter and I had planned to get donuts for the kids this morning (with red sprinkles of course) and surprise our little Valentines. But the last few days have really taken their toll and we’re both pretty exhausted.

So we had a pretty normal morning but colored Valentines. Ryenne is dressed in her heart shirt and Kai is clueless but is having a great day none-the-less. This is his first year of coloring his own Valentine!

She abandoned the red hearts for some good ole white paper. :)

Wishing everyone a wonderful Valentines Day and also Happy Chinese New Year!

XOXO, the Dagupion fam

she’s my sweetie | Austin Kids Photographer

Yes it has been rather quiet on here, hasn’t it? The pregnancy now has me feeling really tired so me and the camera are taking a little break from each other. I did get this cute shot of Ryenne though. She has been such a big girl the past few weeks.

She’s been fetching diapers for me when changing Kai, asking how I’m doing, and giving me extra hugs, kisses, and love when I’m feeling lethargic. She has gone to just about every pre-natal appointment with me and enjoys hearing the heartbeat and talking about how the baby is growing. I just love her curiosity!

I promised her we’d be taking valentine’s pictures for her pre-school card exchange. She is really excited. Maybe today is the day since it finally stopped raining?

February 5, 2010 - 11:08 pm Michele (Pinkle Toes) - Neat-o shot, M!

February 10, 2010 - 8:54 pm Scott Kretschmann - Wow! I love this photo.

February 22, 2010 - 3:35 pm Jennifer - Love it!

.:: brrrrr! ::.

The thermometer this morning. Could barely get the dogs to go outside!

February 1, 2010 - 2:01 am Michele (Pinkle Toes) - I don't know about you, but after about December 26th, I'm so over cold weather. ;-)

coming soon… goodies!

I think my brain is on overload! With my impending maternity leave I’m thinking up projects to work on that I’ve been meaning to jump on for a while. I’ll be starting out in my fresh, new office loft (soooo excited – it just needs flooring!).

I am thrilled to be offering custom framing now! It is really awesome… I can create amazing pieces of art and show previews right on the computer. Email if you’d like to see a sample. The frames come ready to hang on your wall complete with your print already inside…. easy peasy!

I’ll also be updating canvas cluster ideas. The gallery canvas’ are awesome because they don’t need a frame! Ready to hang :)

And coming **hopefully** in March will be the design site. I’ve got some great cards and announcements I’m working on. Maybe this will be the year I’m actually prepared for holiday cards? One can only hope, right? Yes…. I did it. I mentioned the holidays in January. But really… August starts Holiday portrait season and that will be here before we know it!

And finally… I am a shoe fiend. Always have been. I just can’t wear heels anymore for lack of balance. But … swoon… I love her shoes.

January 30, 2010 - 9:59 pm Michelle - Thanks! They were kind of an impulse buy, where you leave and think, "What did I just do?" But I do love them too.

February 4, 2010 - 10:52 pm Carmen Compean - so excited to hear about the new custom framing. can't wait to see a preview.

Sweet, sweet family! | Downtown Austin Family Photographer

What do you get when you mix one set of really cute parents with two adorable little boys? This sweet family! Hold on for a long post… too many great shots!!

Oh my goodness… isn’t baby Ben adorable???

Big brother Ethan thought he had escaped the lens here… but then… got him (thanks to Mom’s perfect reverse psychology!)

Oh baby eyelashes… how I adore them!!!

Lots more images I’m saving for the family to see in their gallery of the kids and family images, but now let’s take a moment for mom and dad. As we set the kids up with things to do and found the perfect spot, I heard Michelle mention to Andy, “Hey, remember me?” and it’s just so true. Don’t we parents get so caught up with the kids all the time? I just love these sweet moments between the two of them. Such a beautiful couple!

Thanks “Y” family for meeting me downtown and braving the wind!! You all are totally delightful!

XO, Mariah
