Maui Wedding Photographer: Mariah Milan captures Brooke and Jared

I meant to sit down and write this post yesterday, but it was my son’s birthday and I had cupcakes to deliver to the kindergarten class. Then I had a lovely wedding to shoot in Makena and by the time I got home, all I could think about was kissing my babies, tucking them in, and falling asleep. I didn’t want to just write ‘anything’ to accompany these images, because when it comes down to it, Brooke and Jared have an amazing story.

This is the tale of two people who fell in love and for whatever reason, it didn’t work out. Brooke moved to another state and they both moved on. And then somehow (I should have gotten more details) they reconnected and knew that they were meant to be together. More than that, they knew they were meant to get married and be a family. So Jared is relocating from California to Colorado and they flew out to Maui to get married. Sounds like it should be a movie I think. I meet a lot of people and a lot of couples and one thing that strikes me as important is the amount of laughter in a relationship. Laughter is so important. These two were having so much fun and laughing the entire time. Made my job so easy.

I don’t know what it was about September 12th – but it was probably the busiest I have ever seen Kapalua Bay. I think I counted about 9 weddings – and while the beach was busy, it seemed as if we had it all to ourselves. Truly had a blast photographing this wedding. Congratulations Brooke and Jared and your ‘Ohana! Wishing you so much love and laughter ahead!
