I was so excited to meet this family – they love to travel the world together and Mom Emily was just the sweetest through our email correspondences. We were all set to meet at Mokapu Beach in Wailea, notoriously sunny, however, there was literally a giant wall of water as I approached Wailea. A huge, black cloud was over the entirety of Wailea and was dropping buckets of rain.

I parked the car and texted Emily – they were hiding under a beach umbrella trying to stay dry. I asked if we could relocate and they graciously accepted. All it took was a 5 minute drive and we were out of the rain-zone. The sunset was EPIC. Stormy sunsets are some of my favorite things ever – and while we did get a couple drops of rain, I felt like Maui was showing this sweet family tons of anniversary love.
