Maui Family Photographer: Getting Splashed at Wahikuli Beach

One of the most unique things about being a family photographer is that I love to watch how children interact – what makes them tick? What makes them happy? What is it I can do to help them be themselves? Family portraits aren’t always about “looking at the camera and smiling” – my hope for sessions is that they are a bit of a time capsule. A way for parents to look back in time and remember when their child was at a certain stage in life.

This session was so much fun because “P” absolutely loved the water. He was smitten with the water and instantly wanted to be wet. I loved how Mom and Dad encouraged him to be comfortable and do what he loved. We snuck some family portrait smiles in there too, but ultimately he’s happiest being in the water – and those are some of my very favorites. Thank you so much Tim and Kelsey for jumping in too! Those moments are so priceless!
