Olowalu Plantation House Wedding

Anna & Eddie’s Olowalu Plantation House Wedding: A Romantic Maui Celebration

Wedding

Some places just feel like magic—and the Olowalu Plantation House is one of them. Nestled on the west coast of Maui, this historic venue offers oceanfront viewsgolden sunsetsand a sense of timeless romance. It was the perfect setting for Anna & Eddie, a couple whose love story deserved nothing less than something this special.

A First Look That Hit Deep

I’ve photographed a lot of weddings, but this first look—this moment—will stay with me forever. When Anna and Eddie saw each other for the first time, they both broke down in tears. The love, the build-up, the sheer emotion of finally getting to this day—it was one of the most powerful first looks I’ve ever captured. As a photographer, you live for moments like these, the ones where you can almost feel the love radiating through the lens.

Olowalu Plantation House: The Perfect Backdrop

Built in the 1920s, the Olowalu Plantation House is one of Maui’s most sought-after wedding venues. It has soul, a history that whispers through its walls, and a setting that feels like a dream. The way the sunlight filters through the palms, the way the ocean breeze carries laughter—it’s pure magic.

Anna and Eddie’s ceremony took place with the ocean as their witness, waves crashing in the background as they exchanged their vows. Every detail of their wedding was intentional—a stunning, thoughtfully designed celebration filled with elements that reflected their story and honored the loved ones who traveled thousands of miles to be there. From the elegant floral arrangements to the carefully curated details, their wedding was the epitome of meaningful luxury.

The reception? A warmcandlelit dinner under the stars, with the sounds of the ocean mixing with music and laughter. Guests gathered around long tables, sharing incredible food and heartfelt toasts. It wasn’t just a wedding—it was a celebration of everything they had been through together.

Photographing a Love Like This

This wedding was extra special for me. It was my first big wedding after COVID, and I could feel the energy of what that meant—not just for me, but for everyone there. It was a reunion, a reminder of love, of why we gather, of the power of human connection.

Sunset at Olowalu never disappoints, but on this night, it was particularly breathtaking—fiery orange and pink streaked across the sky, mirroring the warmth of the love we all felt.
